Miss Chai Saechao graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics in 2004. She has been working under the directions of Dr. Daniel Darvish and Dr. Yadira Valles for HIBM Research Group since October 2005. Chai is the head research associate, leading her colleagues in the development and the validation of new assays and genetic tests. She is also the lead clinical technician licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Molecular Biology (CLSpMB). Currently, as a graduate Master’s student at CSUN, Chai’s research and thesis is on the development of molecular gene therapy for IBM2. She expects to graduate in May 2010 as Magna Cum Laude with a Master’s of Science in Biology. She plans to attend pharmacy school for a joint program of PharmD and PhD in Molecular Pharmacology to further extend the progress of gene therapy development for IBM2.
